08/09/2013 Singing to the Oysters
To help wake the Native Oysters from their beds "The Brook Singers", a male voice choir from Dublin, accompanied by Peter Caviston of Caviston's Food Emporium in Glasthule called to Kelly Oysters in inner Galway Bay and got the history of the Oyster from Diarmuid Kelly.
September is a busy month for the Native Oysters which have just come back into season.
The singers will help the oysters prepare for the upcoming Galway international Oyster Festival at the end of the Month . As well as supplying the Oyster Festivals, Kelly Oysters supply oysters throughout Ireland and around the world.
Last season these much sought after delicacies were exported to 14 different countries. Photo: Andrew Downes
